People spend a lifetime searching for happiness; looking for peace. They chase idle dreams, addictions, religions, even other people, hoping to fill the emptiness that plagues them. The irony is the only place they ever needed to search was within. Ramona L. Anderson
While cruising the internet, I came across the article Life Coaching: Better than Therapy? written By Bliss Broyard for ELLE. It’s one woman’s account of her introduction to using a Life Coach and the benefits she reaped of taking that initial first step.
There are so many that are living a life of acquiescence and not by our own design. I was that person. I can look back on moments, pinnacles in time, were it was like I was lifting my head out of a fog, looking around and wondering how I got there. For years, I just stuck my head back in the fog and kept going. The thought, the mere idea, that ‘this’ isn’t what I wanted terrified me. It was like a domino affect, if I looked at one area of my life that I was unhappy in, then that feed into another area, so on and so on until I was overwhelmed. It was too much. Until one day, the unhappiness was too much and I took my first tentative step and called a Life Coach who came highly recommended to me. That was the beginning of the end of living My life for everyone else. Susan made the process manageable and more importantly she made me feel safe. I may have been rocking the boat, however it was only rocking as hard as I was comfortable with. I made changes that I was ready to make, when I was ready to make them. Some took years, others immediately. Every area of my life has brightened, becoming happier and healthier. I’m experiencing life in ways that I didn’t believe was possible before.
